Birthdays is a one-man show. I saw him perform recently at Chez Andre, a new venue in the basement of the East Village’s Standard Hotel. Some of his recorded stuff comes across as sounding like unreleased Animal Collective tracks, but he pulls it off well, and the live show is great.
