I was sort of over Washed Out for a while, after the “chillwave” genre got over-saturated and everyone was sounding like them. After taking a break for a bit, I gave this new record Within and Without a try and I ended up liking it a lot more than I expected to. It’s still very Washed Out and “chillwave-y,” but he’s stepped up his game, and is still doing this stuff better than most of the others out there. If you liked the last record, you’ll dig this one as well.
