Maxnormal.tv was Die Antwoord before they were Die Antwoord. In 2008, they released their third album Good Morning South Africa, yet most people outside the US even knew they existed. The Maxnormal project (the brainchild of Watkin Tudor Jones, aka Ninja) wasn’t quite as gimmicky as Die Antwoord. It was more straightforward artsy hip hop, although it was a bit tongue-in-cheek at times. Die Antwoord did a pretty good job at deleting all internet references to Maxnormal, but seemed to give up once word got out, and they re-released this record last year.
