After a successful first season of his What Had Happened Was podcast, talking to hip hop legend Prince Paul about his eclectic career, Open Mike Eagle has set his sights on another legend: producer/MC El-P of Company Flow/Run the Jewels fame. The first two episodes have aired so far, where they discuss El’s hip hop beginnings as a kid and the creation of the classic Company Flow record Funcrusher Plus. El-P has been incredibly prolific over the years, so there’s a lot to talk about. I’m looking forward to hearing the rest of it.
