Surprisingly, this is probably one of my favorite records of 2010. It sort of came out of nowhere for me. I’ve been familiar with Jose Gonzalez for a bit, mainly due to his great acoustic cover of The Knife‘s “Heartbeats” a while back. I wasn’t aware of his band Junip until about 2 months ago. Apparently, they’ve existed for 10 years now, but only recently started really getting serious about focusing on the band. They just released their album Fields on Mute/ City Slang, and it’s really good.
