Gary Oldman’s Drexl Character From True Romance Gets the Toy Treatment

Drexl

True Romance has always been one of my all-time favorite movies, and after recently re-watching it with friends at LA’s iconic Hollywood Forever Cemetery, I can confidently say it still holds up as an excellent film (though some of the dialogue didn’t age well). There’s something timeless about its mix of gritty action, sharp dialogue, and unforgettable characters.

While I don’t collect a ton of toys, I have a soft spot for the super niche ones that capture unique characters that have entered “cult” status. That’s why I couldn’t resist preordering the Drexl Spivey figure, based on Gary Oldman’s unforgettable portrayal of Patricia Arquette‘s pimp in the movie. This figure nails the character’s distinctive brothel lounge wear and comes with some true-to-character accessories—including a Chinese food take-out box, and, of course, a shotgun. With five points of articulation and packaged on a classic blister card, it’s a must-have for any True Romance fan.

At just $20, it was an easy decision to add this piece to my collection. And if you’re as big a fan of the movie as I am, you might want to consider grabbing the complete set of 5″ figures, including Clarence, Alabama, Mentor, and Drexl, all for $79.99.
