E.M.A.K. – “Filmmusik”

E.M.A.K. (Elektronische Musik Aus Koln) was founded in Germany in 1982 by Kurt Mill and Matthias Becker.  “Filmmusik” is from the first in a series of releases they put out in the early ’80s.  This one, in particular, titled Vol. 1 is full of yummy minimal synth goodness. A few of their early releases have recently been reissued on CD, but unfortunately, they’re fairly hard to track down.  Matthias Becker has a website up and running though, and you can purchase a copy direct from him if you’d like.  He’s located overseas, but you can feel good about yourself knowing that you purchased a hard-to-find release from the ’80s directly from one of the founding members.
