Darkstar‘s North is yet another album that I didn’t dare to touch, thinking it was just another typical wonky dubstep record. I finally gave it a shot one day, just so I could see what it was about before writing it off, and surprisingly, it wasn’t dubsteppy at all, and I loved it. Somehow, this stuff still gets categorized as “dubstep,” although I’m not sure how. This is more downtempo weird electronic music than anything else, with lots of poppy vocals. From start to finish, it’s great, and it’s perfect for a drizzly day.
