From the 1981 compilation The Up Another Octave Transmission, which featured numerous Orange County electronic and experimental rock bands. I discovered this in my girlfriend’s records and it immediately caught my eye. The old-school computer font on the back, the weirdo cover art, and the fact that there was a super early track from Berlin on this comp all told me that this was something I needed to check out. This track from visual artist, sculptor, musician, and jack-of-all-trades Craig Sibley is the song that sparked my interest most. Sadly, Craig went through some turmoil when his friend John Lee, the curator of this compilation was found murdered in his store and Craig became the chief murder suspect. Luckily, he was found innocent and still gets to create art to this day.
