I had this cassette about 15 or so years ago. I remember picking it up in the bargain bin of a record store I was working at in NH because it was on Mute Records (home to Depeche Mode, Nitzer Ebb, etc). I also knew he was part of Throbbing Gristle and Chris & Cosey. Unfortunately, I didn’t really listen to the tape much, and at the time, I probably wouldn’t have really loved it. Revisiting it recently though, I’m kicking myself for not appreciating this years ago like I should have. This was Chris Carter’s first “solo” outing (released in 1991), and consists of mostly instrumental minimal synth tracks, including this one, appropriately titled “Beat”.
